Everest Base Camp Location & Geography
The Everest region is also known as the Khumbu region lies in the northeastern part of Nepal. The region’s elevation ranges from 3,300 m to 8,8848 m i.e. the summit of Mount Everest. Three of the world’s highest mountains, Lhotse (8,501m), Cho Oyu(8,188m), and Mt Everest (8,848m) reside in the Khumbu region. The mesmerizing sights of the snow-capped mountains, lakes, glaciers, beautiful villages and towns are scattered across the Khumbu region. Everest Base Camp is 65 kms in distance away from the Lukla airport. Most Everest Base Camp Trek route is going to take around 12 or 13 days. It means you will cover around 15 kms each day for the completion of the trek. The rocky ridges and paths might slow you down a little, but you will be able to complete it at a steady and slow pace.
