For a better view of Everest, hiking to Kalapathar is very important. 

Fly to Tengboche and trek

Another option is to fly from Kathmandu to Tengboche which takes around 56 minutes. You can book a helicopter to reach Tengboche village. This can save you some days in your Everest Base Camp Trek. The Tengboche is at the altitude of 3867 meters, so you must take a day in acclimatization and start the regular base camp trek route.

Everest Base Camp via Salleri Trek

Trekking to Everest Base Camp via Salleri route is a whole new experience and one of the best alternate routes for the base camp. Salleri to Everest Base Camp Trek route involves trekking through places such as Taksindo, Kharikhola, Paiya, Phakding, Namche and follows the traditional route to Everest Base Camp. Everest Base Camp Location & Geography

The Everest region is also known as the Khumbu region lies in the northeastern part of Nepal. The region’s elevation ranges from 3,300 m to 8,8848 m i.e. the summit of Mount Everest. Three of the world’s highest mountains, Lhotse (8,501m), Cho Oyu(8,188m), and Mt Everest (8,848m) reside in the Khumbu region. The mesmerizing sights of the snow-capped mountains, lakes, glaciers, beautiful villages and towns are scattered across the Khumbu region. The geography includes rugged rocky mountains and terrains in the higher altitude and the lower region includes alpine woods.

Everest Base Camp lies at an altitude of 5,364m (17,598 ft). The base camps are the camping site for the mountain climbers during their ascent and descent of Everest. The specialty of the base camp is Khumbu Icefall, Kala Patthar, Khumbu Glacier, Lhotse and Mount Everest itself. Though for a better view of the Everest, you need to trek to the Kalapathar and other viewpoints.

Everest Base Camp Trekking Distance 

Everest Base Camp is 65 kms in distance away from the Lukla airport. Most Everest Base Camp Trek route is going to take around 12 or 13 days. It means you will cover around 15 kms each day for the completion of the trek. The rocky ridges and paths might slow you down a little, but you will be able to complete it at a steady and slow pace.
