Start the day early, have breakfast and buckle yourself for today’s tour. Today we will be visiting four major cultural heritage in Kathmandu; Basantapur Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath. Basantapur Durbar Palace was an abode of the Malla and Shah Dynasty for years. The artistically rich plaza reflects the antique Newari architecture and ancient civilization. The majestic Gaddi Baithak Palace, beautiful courtyard, primitive temples, breathtaking monuments, and ancient houses will elevate our experience.
Take blessing from the living goddess ‘ Kumari’ before heading to Swayambhunath. Swayambhunath is a symbol of peace and love. The beautiful plaza guards the entire Kathmandu city against the top of the hill. The complex houses a number of Buddha statues, shrines, temples and gompas. After visiting this holy place, we will head to Pashupatinath.
A 45-minute drive from here will take us to another sacred place in Kathmandu, Pashupatinath. The beautiful temple is surrounded by beautiful forests and filled with multiple temples, statues, and shrines. The major temple is of Lord Shiva set on the bank of the holy river Bagmati. Non-Hindus are not allowed to enter the premises of the temple. However, the temple looks equally magnificent from afar too. Our next destination is Boudhanath.
While performing kora, we will witness beautiful temples, shops selling handicrafts, thanka, Tibetan and Nepali handicrafts etc. After strolling around for a while, we will have lunch in one of the fine restaurants. After concluding the Kathmandu tour, head back to the office. We will have a briefing session and prepare for the upcoming tour.
