Chuli East Peak Climb takes you around Annapurna region, Manang and to the top of the peak at 6,500m to the summit of the mountain. Chuli East Peak is listed as one of the Nepal highest trekking peaks by NMA (Nepal Mountaineering Association). Chulu East Peak climb is situated in Manang valley close to Damodar and Annapurna mountain ranges. It is a comparatively tough peak climb and also requires some mountaineering skills.

The grading from French and Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification Systems for Chuli East peak is PD + (meaning ‘Per Difficult’). It is a straight forward climb requiring some the technical skills in some sections to reach the summit.

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu airport and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: At Kathmandu with options for sightseeing tour and trek/climb preparations.
Day 03: Drive to Jagat 1,440 m via Syange 980 m and Besisahar town – 07 hrs.
Day 04: Trek to Dharapani 1,920 m via Tal-Besi 1,745 m and Chamje – 06 hrs.
Day 05: Trek to Chame 2,670 m – 05 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Pisang 3, 230 m – 05 hrs.
Day 07: Trek to July 3,900m – 06 hrs.
Day 08: At July for acclimatization.
Day 09: Trek to Chulu Base Camp at 5,300m – 04 hrs.
Day 10: Rest day at Chuli East Base Camp preparation and acclimatization.
Day 11: Chuli East Peak ascent 6,584 m (21,727 ft) and descend to base camp.
Day 12: Reserve and contingency day in case of bad weather condition.
Day 13: Trek to Manang 3,540m – 06 hrs.
Day 14: Trek to Yak Kharka 4,110 m – 04 hours.
Day 15: Trek to Thorang High Camp 4,600 m – 04 hrs.
Day 16: Cross Thorang-La 5,416 m and trek to Muktinath 3,800 m – 06 hrs.
Day 17: Drive to Jomsom 2, 715 m and transfer to lodge 2, 715 – 02 hrs.
Day 18: Flight from Jomsom to Pokhara 860 m and transfer to hotel.
Day 19: Fly/drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 20: International departure for homeward bound.

Chulu East Peak Climb takes you atop at above 6,584 m / 21,727 ft, listed as Nepal highest trekking peaks by NMA (Nepal Mountaineering Association), where all trekking peaks are controlled. Chulu East Peak Climb situated around high and above scenic Manang valley close to Damodar Himal range and North of Annapurna massif, an interesting peak to climb.

Chulu East Peak Climb begins with a long interesting drive from Kathmandu to reach Besisahar a headquarter town of Lamjung district, where walks follow raging Marysangdi right up to its glacial source at high Manang valley fed from the glaciers of Annapurna II-III-IV, Gangapurna, and Chulus peaks.  the walk leads higher into scenic Manang valley at Pisang where our route leaves the main Annapurna circuit trail for complete wilderness to reach Chulu East Peak base camp for the climb.

The climb for Chulu East Peak will be determined with enough rest days for acclimatization and practice then ready for the big ascent to the top with overnight in tented camps for a few days. Enjoy the panorama of mountains and super views of landscapes and then back to join the Annapurna circuit trail at main Manang village, where walk leads to cross high Thorang-la pass to reach Mustang area at Muktinath, one of the holy spot for Hindu pilgrimage.

From Muktinath, our walk completes with a short drive to Jomsom the headquarter town of Mustang area, where short scenic flight brings you to the beautiful city in Pokhara by its serene Phewa Lakeside. A great scenic place where our marvellous adventure Chulu East Peak Climb concludes, after a great thrill and experience on higher sides of Annapurna Himalaya range.

Day 1
On arrival at Kathmandu airport 1,340 m meet our staff and transfer to hotel.

Landing at Kathmandu and Nepal international airport, where our guide or staff receives you for short drive to your respective hotels in the hub of Kathmandu. After checking into your nice rooms with rest after a jet-lag, and then rendezvous with other group member for briefing regarding Chulu East Peak Climb and treks, as well with other useful information, evening enjoy grand welcome dinner in typical Nepalese restaurants with various native cultures as entertainment.

Day 2
At Kathmandu with options for tour and trek / climb preparations.

At Kathmandu as free day where one can join in our interesting sightseeing tour as options, as the capital Kathmandu of Nepal steeped with historical and religious monuments of world heritage sites, afternoon at leisure and preparation for Chulu East Peak Climb.

Day 3
Drive to Jagat 1,440 m v Besisar town 860 m - 07 hrs.

An early morning after breakfast ready for long and interesting overland journey on Nepal’s main highway to reach at warmer country around Mid-West at Lamjung district, and then continue drive from Besisar headquarter town of Lamjung, located in a warm sub-tropical temperature valley. Drive continue following farm village and Marysangdi River upstream till Syange village and then on winding uphill to reach a nice place at Jagat farm village for first overnight stop of the adventure.

Day 4
Trek to Dharapani 1,920 m via Tal-Besi 1,745 m and Chamje - 06 hrs.

From Jagat our treks begins heading through farm areas above the river to reach at Chamje where you can notice change of village people, vegetation and culture entering into more Buddhism country. After Chamje crossing over Marysangdi river to reach in the cool shade of nice lovely woodland of pines and rhododendron tree lines heading above the river to reach a nice valley at Tal -Besi, where temperatures gets much cooler from here onward. With refreshing stop heading towards the end of the valley and crossing over bridges with ups and downhill to reach at nice Dharapani village, located above the river in between route to Manang and Manaslu area.

Day 5
Trek to Chame 2,670 m - 05 hours.

Morning walk leads into nice alpine woodland within a river gorge to reach at a small villages Bagchap and Danaque encountering Buddhist religious monuments of prayer walls and spinning bells and then walking with views of Lamjung Himal and Annapurna IV and A II peaks, to reach higher side of the trail at Timang village.

This village of mixed hill tribes with Magar-Gurung and Manang people facing grand views of Manaslu and Annapurna mountain range, after Timang on downhill then walk by the river side to reach at large town in Chame. Chame headquarter and administrative town of Manang district with many good lodges for overnight stop, with time to browse its streets filled with shops and stores.

Day 6
Trek to Pisang 3, 230 m - 05 hrs.

Enjoying time in of the largest town of this trek in Chame walk leads to follow the river upstream within thick woodland of pines and rhododendron the reaching Bratang village, as walk continues crossing bridges then climb up into forested area on top a hill facing views of Pisang peaks and Chulus, and the descend towards a near flat terrain to Pisang village for overnight stop.

Day 7
Trek to Julu 3,900 m - 06 hrs.

After Pisang village, walk leads away from main Annapurna circuit path for few days, as our route heads into complete barren wilderness, continues higher above Nagawal village towards North West into more arid and dry country to reach at a small village of Julu for first overnight camping of the trip.

Day 8
At Julu for acclimatization.

A necessary and important rest day for acclimatization as well getting preparation towards Chulu East peak climb, with free hike around and explore Julu village with grand scenery of mountains with view of Chulus peaks.

Day 9
Trek to Chulu Base Camp at 5,300 m - 04 hrs.

After rest at Julu, morning walk towards remote area with views of Chulu and Annapurna range of mountains, climb leads above scenic Manang valley to Chulu East and Far East Peaks area. Enjoying walks with hard high altitude to reach a rocky moraine ridges to camp for overnight, a perfect spot to set base camp as well starting point for Chulu East Peak climb.

Day 10
Rest day at Base Camp.

Another acclimatization day, and for final preparation check climbing gear for Chulu East Peak climb, here our guide will scout the route to make the climb more approachable and successful.

Day 11
Climb of Chulu East Peak and descend to Base Camp - 08 hrs.

Main highlight of the adventure starting early before dawn climb over snowy slopes and ridge with quite steep route facing some technical effort in few sections to reach on top of t Chulu East summit; where our expert guide will set the route and fix ropes where necessary to make accessible to reach on top Chulu East Peak summit. After final climb reach the top where you feel high with experience of a life time adventure, enjoy grand panorama of mountains and descend back to base camp.

Day 12
Reserve day in case of bad weather condition

We reserve spare as contingency day, in case of unfavorable bad weather conditions, if all goes well this spare can be used on the way before Thorang-la or on route to Jomsom.

Day 13
Trek to Manang 3,540 m - 05 hrs.

Morning facing views of mountains, from here with short ups and more downhill overlooking views of Annapurna II and III, Gangapurna Chulu’s and Pisang peak. Descend to a valley at Hongde village, from here onward tree lines fades for barren, arid landscapes with cold, dry arctic climate.

Before Manang, visit old Braga monastery with old Buddhist relics, ancient wall painting and frescos and stunning views of Annapurna Himalaya, from here an hour walk reaches at Manang village. Rest of the afternoon relax and explore this interesting village adorned with age-old Buddhist religion and fascinating culture and custom.

Day 14
Trek to Yak Kharka 4,110 m - 04 hours.

From Manang onward towards windswept high valley and barren hills and getting closer to snow capped peaks as walk leads past Manang village and towards Ghunsa small village, then in open wide country with views of Gangapurna-Tilicho peaks with Chulu West.

Walk finally ends on reaching a small Yak grazing pastureland known as Yak-Kharka for overnight and lunch stop in one of its best available lodge with views of high peaks.

Day 15
Trek to Thorang High Camp 4,600 m - 04 hrs.

After a pleasant stop and overnight, morning walk leads at the end of valley rim to reach bottom of Thorang-La Pass, where walk leads on gradual ups with few short descend to a river with brief steep climb and then on good trail to reach at Phedi with few good lodge. A break here on this high altitude, then a short steep climb on stone scree path leads you on top of ridge where Thorang High Camp situated with about 2-3 lodgefor overnight stop in this high country enclosed within giant peaks of Chulu and Damodar Himal.

Day 16
Cross Thorang-La 5,416 m and descend to Muktinath 3,800 m - 06 hrs.

A long walk start early morning with a slow climb on winding steep uphill past few glacial ponds and then finally reaching on the top of high Thorang-La pass where you can notice a big board on top with name and height of the pass, festooned with thousands of Buddhist colorful prayer flags. The top offers amazing scenery of Mustang region due west with Dhaulagiri-Annapurna and Chulu includes Damodar Himal range. From the top a long downhill to reach at the bottom of the pass with few shades and tea-house, as walk continues on nice wide trail to reach at holy Muktinath Temple premises for overnight stop at Muktinath village, after a long tough walk of the day.

Day 17
Drive to Jomsom 2, 715 m with free afternoon- 02 hrs.

Due to the nature of road condition and tiring walks of previous day, today end of the walk for short period taking an opportunity of jeep drive on med-arable road heading downhill towards Jomsom and Kaligandaki River Valley. Reaching at Jomsom for last overnight stop on High Mountains, Jomsom headquarter town of Mustang area located on old Trans Himalaya Salt Trade and Caravan Trail of Nepal and Tibet, where trade still exists beyond Upper Mustang through Karo-la pass to the frontier of Tibet/ China.

Around this area home to Thakali people of Buddhism religion, been on this trade for hundreds of years, from here around Kaligandaki valley which includes Marpha-Tukuche and Kalapani / Lete famous for delicious apples and product.

Day 18
From Jomsom fly to Pokhara 860 m - 20 mins transfer to hotel.

Morning a short walk to Jomsom air-terminal where scenic and sweeping short flight reaches at Pokhara, during air-borne excellent views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range on both side of the plane window. On landing at Pokhara airport an interesting short drive takes you at scenic and beautiful lake side for overnight stops by its famous and serene Lake Phewa.

Day 19
Drive or fly back to Kathmandu afternoon free at leisure.

Morning from Pokhara an exciting overland journey back to Kathmandu on route observe Nepalese country life as drive leads past farm villages and towns and to reach Kathmandu around afternoon time, rest of the day free for individual activities and shopping souvenirs.

Day 20
International departure for home ward bound.

After a wonderful time in Nepal with amazing time in high mountains enjoying adventure on Chulu East Peak climbs and trek, with last day in Himalayan country enjoying adventure on high Himalaya, where our staff and guide transfers you to the airport for your flight back home or to next port of call.

When do I book for Chulu East Peak Climb and Trekking?

Depending upon your time and duration for the trek you can book this trip at least 2-3 weeks ahead from our departure dates for the trek, with advance
payment as per the norms and rules of the company.
Make sure that you have checked your medical and physical fitness before signing the trip and as well purchasing medical and travel insurance which is very important for this kind of adventurous treks in Nepal Himalaya.

How many people will be in the group?

From minimum 3-4 person in the group with maximum of 10-15 persons in the group, in some cases we do allow booking for single person as well, running independent at extra cost than in groups.

What will be weather like on the trek?

As per season wise, best time is from March to May, when most of the day is clear with minimum temperatures of 0° to 20° Celsius depending upon the altitude and
areas. Where most of the morning till mid days clears for views and walks, sometimes afternoon can get overcast with chances of light rains and snow. March to May will be lively with wild-flowers in full bloom especially various species of rhododendron (national flower of Nepal) from trees to short bushes.

How are the lodge and Tea-House on Treks?

Tea-House the word used in early days when there was smaller numbers of lodges
on route trekking, at present each villages has more than 10 to 20 good lodges
with pleasant rooms accommodations, serving excellent food menus as per the
season wise.
Some village above 2,500 m and 3,000 m do have nice lodge, but due to freezing
cold temperatures in night and morning time where they have toilets on the
outside, with some inside as common bath rooms and rest rooms.
All rooms and dining with warm heating and cozy facilities to make your stay
much pleasant and enjoyable.

Are there electricity and network for cell-phones?

Most of the places do have electricity on route trekking run by hydro-power after
main villages, where much of electric supply are private and individual of the lodge owners with sun / solar power to activate electric just for the lodge and as well for customers to charge their computers and cell-phones. Some places do have networks for cell phones and as well for internets like Wi-Fi above Manang Valley some areas due to high peaks and hills, the networks are disturbed in deep areas like around river gorge areas.At present nearly all people in Nepal including remote villages do have assist to
cell-phones with fine network connection only in bad weather the line can be broken, otherwise it is fine in working order.

What happens if some is sick and have to break the trek?

In this situation where our guides are well equipped with knowledge for
emergency and medical purpose, depending upon the seriousness of the victims if it is much critical where nearest medical attention needed, we call for immediate evacuation for Helicopter services to reach the victims to nearest medical station and hospital.

Besides men-folk as famous Gurkha soldiers the hill people are mostly farmers and cattle herders as traditional profession.
