First of all, the trip begins with your arrival in Kathmandu. Next, your tour around the Kathmandu Valley and prepare for the trek. From Kathmandu, you drive to Syabrubensi which is the entrance to the Langtang Valley. Then, you begin the trek and follow the Langtang River to Lama Hotel. En route, you will pass Bamboo, Rimche, and other Tamang villages. The trails continue to follow the Langtang River as you get occasional glimpses of Langtang and Jugal ranges. Further, you pass Mundu and Langtang Village to enter the premises of the Kyanjin Village. Here, you also visit the ancient Kyanjin Gompa that is one of the biggest and oldest villages in the region. As you explore Kyanjin, you can also hike to nearby Tserko Ri (4984m) or Kyanjin Ri (4773m).

Retracing your steps, you reach Lama Hotel and trek south towards Shin Gompa. Trekking east, you will hug the trails across the hilly landscapes. Finally, you reach another highlight of the trip to Gosainkunda Lake. Here, you can relish the beauty of the sacred lake in the backdrop of the Langtang and Dorje Lakpa ranges. After exploring the lake system, you take a different route to Kutumsang. Descending further, you head to Chisapani and continue to Sundarijal. Here, you trek through the Shivapuri National Park and drive back to Kathmandu.

It is a fairly easy trek and can be done by anyone with a decent physical condition. Also, the months from September to November and March to May are the best time for the Langtang Valley Trek.

Day 1
On arrival at Kathmandu airport 1,340 m meet our staff and transfer to the hotel.

You may arrive in the capital at any time. After your arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel by one of our staff who will be waiting for you at the airport. There is nothing else planned for today, so you can relax at the hotel, and meet our staff who will convey further information about the trip. Overnights stay at the Hotel.

Day 2
At Kathmandu with options for a tour with time for trek preparations.

You can choose to have a guided sightseeing tour of the city today. The tour includes visiting the four major UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the Kathmandu city. The sites include the holy Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the Swayambhunath Stupa, the Boudhanath shrine, and the Kathmandu Durbar Square. Each of the sites holds a great historical and religious significance, and present traditional art and architectural work. After the sightseeing tour, you will be dropped back to your hotel where you can prepare for tomorrow’s trip. Overnights stay at the Hotel.

Day 3
Drive to Syabrubensi 1,465 m – 06 hrs.

The drive to Syabrubensi from Kathmandu takes about 5 to 6 hours. You can enjoy the sight of Nepal’s rural countryside along the journey. Terrace farms, rivers, and vast pasturelandsdotted the terrain where the road runs. You will head north of Kathmandu to reach Syabrubensi, passing the village of Dhunche. The road to Syabrubensi branches alongside the beautiful Trishuli River, and as you approach the village, you can catch your first view of the Ganesh Himal. Overnights stay at the guesthouse at Syabrubensi.

Day 4
Trek to Lama Hotel 2, 340 m – 06 hrs.

The trekking trail from Syabrubensi leads to the small village of Bamboo. You will cross the Bhote Koshi River and the Langtang Khola and trek to Bamboo, going through a landslide area. From there, the path snakes through the woods towards the village of Ramche, situated at the banks of the Langtang Khola. The Lama Hotel is situated at the end of the trail. It is surrounded by woods where many Red Pandas and Langur Monkeys reside. Overnights stay at the Lama Hotel.

Day 5
Trek to Langtang village 3,290 m – 06 hrs.

From the Lama Hotel, the path continues through thick juniper forests towards the village of Gumanechok. Further onwards from the village lies the settlement of Ghoda Tabela. The name translates to “Horse Stable” in Nepali. From there, you will trek to Mundu, another renowned village of the valley. A 30 minutes trek from Mundu finally takes you to the Langtang Village. Overnights stay at the guesthouse.

Day 6
Trek to Kyanjin around Langtang valley 3,780 m – 04 hours.

You will cross the Laja Khola and then gradually climb your way towards a moraine from where the trail ascends towards a viewpoint. You can enjoy panoramic views of the valley from there, as well as the sight of the Kyanjin Gompa situated a few kilometers ahead.The Gompa is situated under the mighty Langtang Lirung Peak. The view of the dramatic icefall from the viewpoint is also amazing. Overnights stay at the guesthouse.

Day 7
Rest day at Kyanjin for excursion and a short hike.

This day is reserved for acclimatization. You can explore the Kyanjin Gompa and enjoy the monastery’s Thanka Paintings and statues of Lord Buddha. You can also spend the day hiking to the vantage point of Tserko RI. The hike up to the viewpoint is strenuous, but the view of the valley and the Langtang Mountains from the top is quite captivating. Moreover, you can also visit the local cheese factory in Langtang. The local cheese is made from yak milk and you can also buy some to take with you. Overnights stay at the guesthouse.

Day 8
Trek to Lama Hotel – 06 hrs.

From Kyanjin Gompa, you will once again trek on the same familiar path back to the Lama Hotel.It is a leisurely trek through the woodlands where you can keep a look-out for animals like Red Panda. Overnights stay at the Lama Hotel.

Day 9
Trek to Thulo / Upper Syabru village 2,120 m – 05 hrs.

From the Lama Hotel, the path divergestowards Thulo Syabru, first descending to the river, and then gradually ascending again to the village. The trekking path is lined beautifully with juniper and pine trees, and the aroma of wet pine lingers deliciously in the air as you trek. The view of the Langtang Mountain also accompanies the journey in the distant horizon. Overnights stay at the guesthouse at Thulo Syabru.

Day 10
Trek to Sing Gompa / Chandanbari at 3,245 m – 05 hrs.

A broad trail from the Syabru village takes you to Chandanbari. There is another Buddhist monastery here called the Sing Gompa. Chandanbari is also known for its cheese production. You will pass through the small village of Dimsa and then continue on the trail snaking its way through rhododendron woods until finally reaching the village. Overnights stay at the guesthouse at Chandanbari.

Day 11
Trek to Gosainkunda 4,381m / 14,375 ft – 05 hrs.

From Sing Gompa, you will trek to the holy Gosainkunda Lake. The initial part of the trail from Chandanbari is steep and meanders through the slopestowards Lauribinayak. From here, you will continue towards Gosainkunda, trekking on a rugged trail. You can also enjoy the view of the Manaslu Himal, the Ganesh Himal and the Langtang Lirung Peak along the journey. On clear days, you can also spot the Annapurna Mountain rising behind the Langtang Lirung. There are about a dozen lakes in the Gosainkunda Basin. The three main lakes are the Saraswatikunda, the Bhairab Kunda and the Gosainkunda. Overnights stay at the guesthouse.

Day 12
Trek to Ghopte Odar 3,566m via Gosainkunda or Lauribinayak-La 4,609 m /15,100 ft.

Further on from Gosainkunda, the path takes you to Ghopte Odar. You will follow the raggedy trail, passing by four smaller lakes to reach the Lauribinayak La (4,610 meters) – the highest point of the journey. From the mountain pass, you can spot several mountain peaks of the Langtang valley. The view of the vast deep valley also sprawls out quite spectacularly below. From the pass, you will then make your way steadily down towards the village of Ghopte. Overnightsstay at the guesthouse.

Day 13
Trek to Kutumsang 2,445m – 06 hrs.

Following a pleasant trail running through small streams and rolling hills, you will passthrough pine and rhododendron forests towards Kutumsang. Along the way, the path merges with the famous Helambu trail. Passing the settlement of Mangengoth, you will reach Kutumsang. Overnights stay in a guesthouse.

Day 14
Trek to Chisapani 2,195m via Gul Bhanjyang 2,125m – 07 hrs.

Ascending to a ridge from Kutumsang, you will trek down to Gul Bhanjyang. From here, you will then gradually climb to Thodang, and descend once again to Chipling. The path then leads to Thankune Bhanjyang. It is an easy walk to Pati Bhanjyang from there. A steep drop from the ridge then takes you to Chisapani. Overnights stay in a guesthouse.

Day 15
Trek to Sundarijal 1,380m – 03 hrs with our drive to Kathmandu.

It is about a four-hour hike from Chisapani to Sundarijal. A beautiful viewpoint, Sundarijal presents panoramic sights of the mountain peaks. You will be trekking through the Shivapuri National Park. Trekking through woodland areas, the path traverses to Borlang Bhanjyang from where you will trek down to Mulkharka. Further from here lays Sundarijal. You will then drive back to Kathmandu. Overnights stay at the Hotel.

Day 16
International departure for homeward bound.

Approximately three hours before your scheduled flight, you will be dropped off at the airport for your departure.

Meals and Accommodations:

In major cities like Pokhara and Kathmandu, you will get multiple options to choose from, from cheap lodges to extravagant 5 stars hotels. Likewise, you will also get to choose from a wide range of cuisines while in the major cities. However, once you move away from the cities, the options for meals and accommodations in Nepal will become limited. During the treks, the best accommodations available are lodges and teahouses. They provide basic facilities for dining and lodging. These places mostly serve traditional Nepali food “Daal Bhat Tarkari” (rice, pulses, and vegetables). Similarly, there are several other food varieties like Momo, Thukpa, and Thakali food available across Nepal.

Banking, ATM’s, and Money in Nepal:

Nepalese Rupees is the official currency of Nepal. The banknotes of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, and 1000 whereas coins of 1 and 2 are available in Nepal.
While travelling to Nepal, banking and money exchange are not a huge deal in big cities like Pokhara and Kathmandu. When you head to rural areas, the availability of banks, ATMs, and money exchange booths becomes fairly scarce. So, it best to withdraw enough cash and exchange the currency at major cities.

Acclimatization:

Trekking on the Everest Region much difficult as it is even more technical. We give you special priority to its technical sides for as well. For this, we have planned an itinerary to allow you to get acclimatize naturally. We know a particular location where you need to stay for rest to acclimatize, and the particular distance you need to walk slowly pace study and so on. In case you get AMS, we have to crews who know how to deal with, it effectively and smartly.

Altitude Sickness:

While trekking in Nepal is extremely satisfying, altitude sickness might get a better hold of you at times. The air pressure and oxygen concentration decrease the higher you travel. As such, altitude sickness is an illness that a human body suffers from due to these reasons. The symptoms of the sickness include lack of appetite, nausea, weakness, lightheartedness, sleep disturbance, tiredness, and headache. These symptoms generally appear when moving upwards of the height 2,400 meters from the sea level.

You can adopt different measures to avoid altitude sickness like a walk with a slow and steady pace, avoid smoking, and stop at different stations to acclimatize. Before beginning your trek, make sure you have a first aid kit with ibuprofen or paracetamol and Diamox. If anyone falls victim to altitude sickness, it is necessary to inform the trip leader and descend to a lower altitude. In extreme cases, it might also be necessary to perform Heli rescue and emergency evacuations.

Accidents can happen anywhere so, it is recommended for all the tourists to get travel insurance before visiting Nepal. Depending upon the insurance policy and the company, the insurance will look after tragic like theft, loss or accidental damage of gears and other belongings, baggage, and medical emergencies. Likewise, the insurance should also include helicopter evacuation and any kinds of mishaps that might occur during adventure sporting like bungee jumping, rafting, and zip-lining. Trekking Seasons in Nepal

Another appropriate season is mid-September to November (autumn), during which the temperature is moderate, skies are clear, and mountain views are stunning. How many people will be in the group?

From the minimum 3-4 person in the group with a maximum of 10-15 persons in the group, in some cases we do allow booking for a single person as well, running independently at extra cost than in groups.

What will be weather like on the trek?

As per the season wise, where the best time is from March to May when most of the day is clear with minimum temperatures of 0° to 20° Celsius depending upon the altitude and areas. Where most of the morning till mid-days clears for views and walks, sometimes afternoon can get overcast with chances of light rains and snow. April to May will be lively with wild-flowers in full bloom especially various species of rhododendron (national flower of Nepal) from trees too short bushes.

How are the lodge and Tea-House on Treks?

Tea-House the word used in early days when there were smaller numbers of lodges on route trekking, at present each village has more than 10 to 20 good lodges with pleasant rooms accommodations, serving excellent food menus as per the season wise. Some village above 2,500 m and 3,000 m do have a nice lodge, but due to freezing cold temperatures in night and morning time where they have toilets on the outside, with some inside as common bathrooms and restrooms. All rooms and dining with warm heating and cosy facilities to make your stay much pleasant and enjoyable.

Are there electricity and network for cell-phones?

Most of the places do have electricity on route trekking run by hydro-power after main villages, where much of electric supply are private and individual of the lodge owners with sun/solar power to activate electric just for the lodge and as well for customers to charge their computers and cell-phones.
Some places do have networks for cell phones and as well for internets like Wi-Fi above Langtang valley and Gosainkund some areas due to high peaks and hills, the networks are disturbed in deep areas like around river gorge areas. At present nearly all people in Nepal including remote villages do have an assist to cell-phones
with fine network connection only in bad weather, the line can be broken, otherwise, it is fine in working order.

What happens if some is sick and have to break the trek?

The Tamang tribes are high hills people of Nepal spread around Himalaya throughout the country, where most concentrated within Langtang and Ganesh Himal area of Buddhist religion and origin, these hill tribes are famous as craftsmen as well merrymaking with dance and music, and Tamang is mostly farmers and cattle herders as a traditional profession.
