Tamang people are of the Mongolian dynasty and origin. The name was originally Tamar in which Ta means Horse and Mar means Red. The name Tamar (now Tamang) means cavalry soldiers riding on red horses. The people migrated into Nepal’s Himalayan areas including Langtang. The change of profession into farming, arts and crafts which you will witness on this Tamang Heritage Trail trek.

Day 01: On arrival at Kathmandu airport (1,340m) and transfer to the hotel.
Day 02: At Kathmandu with options for sightseeing tour and trek preparations.
Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi (1,465m) via Dunche (1,910m) – 5/6 hrs.
Day 04: Trek to Gatlang (2,236m) – 5/6 hrs.
Day 05: Trek to Tatopani (2,605m) – 5/6 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Thuman (2,390m) via Nagthali (3,154m) – 4/5 hrs.
Day 07: Trek to Syabrubesi – 5/6 hrs.
Day 08: Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel with a free afternoon.
Day 09: International departure for homeward bound.
Starting Tamang Heritage Trail journey heading North of Kathmandu to reach in the heart of Rasuwa district at Dhunche, headquarter a major Tamang town and district around Langtang Himal, where the walk begins from Syabrubesi village as well other major trekking and adventure around Langtang Himal region.
Our route leads beyond and off from the main popular trekking path to reach an interesting large village of Gatlang where the air gets much cooler in this impressive Tamang farm village welcomed in a traditional custom of the Buddhist religion, with time to explore its nice places and interacting with the natives.
After gaining much knowledge of the culture and heritage lifestyle visiting Tatopani village with refreshing natural hot spring in the backdrop of scenic mountain views of Ganesh and Langtang Himal then exploring more around Tamang villages as walk leads close to Tibet border at Nagtahli and Thuman villages and then heading back to the main road-head at Syabrubesi.
At Syabrubesi with last overnight after wonderful times and experience on Tamang Heritage Trail walks the concluding our memorable short trip of less than week duration heading back to Kathmandu.
