The trek is a special adventure of a week’s duration within the massive Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range of mountains to the hidden pockets of the Mid-West Himalayas of Nepal. You will be fascinated with the awesome scenery of white snow-capped peaks, and green hills covered with beautiful rhododendron and magnolia trees. Khopra Danda Trek offers outstanding nature walk quite different from other mainstream trekking trails of Annapurna Conservation Area. The trek is one of the least ventured regions of Annapurna conservation areas which will be in the complete wilderness of mountains range and scenic views within enchanting woodland and nice pasture landscapes.
Khopra Danda Trek is less crowded and the limited number of lodges which makes it a totally different trekking destination. Trek begins from the scenic and pretty Pokhara city. You’ll then leave sub-tropical areas for cooler alpine woodlands to reach Ghorepani. It’s a wonderful place with good lodgings. You can enjoy the panoramic views of Dhaulagiri, Mustang Himal, Dhampush Peak, Tukuche Peak, Nilgiri West and Annapurna ranges. From Ghorepani, you’ll hike to Poon Hill early in the morning for a stunning panoramic sunrise view over the Himalayas. Heading into pristine tranquillity away from the main trekking path marks the start of the actual journey to reach Kopra Danda. The hilltop offers a marvellous panorama view of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range of mountains. Holy Khair Lake on the top of the hill is also one of the highlights of the Khopra Ridge Trek.
The return walk leads into serene woodland then back to the main trekking route past the nice large village of Ghandruk. After Ghandruk, you’ll drive back to Pokhara. You can chill and relax in Pokhara after the trek and then before taking a flight to Kathmandu for a flight back.
