Laboche Peak Climb is an adventure near the Khumbu glacier. It offers stunning panoramic views of mountains in the Everest region from its top at 6,119m. There are two Lobuche peaks: Lobuche East (6,119m) and Laboche West (6,145m). Labuche East Peak is famous for Peak climbing and the west is for expeditions. This peak climb is also known for the amazing trekking experience it offers as you trek through the most popular trail in the Everest region towards the Everest Base Camp.
Laboche Peak Climb will certainly enlighten you with the ascent to the top of one of the highest and toughest trekking peaks within Nepal Himalayas. The peak climbing and trekking trip starts with a short flight in a small aircraft from Kathmandu to land at Sherpa town in Lukla. Walks begin following the Dudh-Kosi River and past nice villages with prayer flags towards Namche Bazaar.
Namche is the hub of the Khumbu region and also one of the largest villages with all kinds of modern facilities and obviously grand views of peaks. From Namche, you’ll head higher through serene Rhododendron and pine forests to scenic Tengboche. You’ll have time here to enjoy the views and visit the monastery before heading towards Everest Base Camp. You’ll also climb the high Kalapathar hilltop which offers amazing views of some of the highest mountains in the world. It’ll help you with rest and acclimatization before the climb of Lobuche East Climb.
Finally, on the day of Lobuche Peak Climb, our expert guide will accompany you to the top and back. You’ll then head back to Lukla for the sweeping flight back to Kathmandu with grand memories and experiences of Labuche Peak Trek and Climb.
Peak Climb Difficulty:
Laboche Peak Climb is for expert climbers as well as beginners. It is a technical climb to the summit of Laboche East Peak. Laboche East Peak rises high above 6,119 meters/11,287 feet high close to its adjoining Laboche West Peak. The peaks stand next to each other within high Khumbu Valley just a mere distance from the world’s highest Mt. Everest.
The grading systems from the French and Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification rate the climb as TD+ which means Technical Difficult and plus due to the nature of the mountain that requires some technical effort to reach its top.
Interested climbers should have some knowledge of climbing and mountaineering skills. Using adequate climbing types of equipment is also a helpful skill. We have a team that can train you before your peak climbing trip. So, beginners can also join in to face the challenge and toughness of Laboche.
Flight Delays: Due to the geographical diversity and unpredictable climate in the Himalayas, internal flights are often delayed or cancelled. Weather conditions like heavy rainfall, storms, or fog can disrupt flights. So, it is wise to spare an extra day or two as buffer days, in case of flight delays and cancellations. Likewise, it is also necessary to note that the weather conditions are great during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. If you have enough time, you can also choose road transportation in such cases.
Note: Due to the Air Traffic at Tribhuvan International Airport, all flights to and from Lukla will now be operated from Ramechhap Airport, which is a 4-hour drive from Kathmandu. The transportation to and from Ramechhap will be provided by the company. Thus, it’s good to keep a few extra days after a trek in case of flight delay or cancellation.
