Day 1 On arrival at Kathmandu airport 1,340 m meet our staff and transfer to hotel.
Upon your arrival, you will meet one of our representatives at the airport. He will welcome you and take you safely to your hotel. Along the way, you can catch the busy scene of the bustling Kathmandu city. At the hotel, you will meet your tour operator who’ll brief you about the Gokyo Valley Trek in detail. As nothing is planned for today, you can choose to relax at the hotel.

Day 2 At Kathmandu with options for tour with time for trek preparations.
The second day marks an interesting tour of Kathmandu city. The day will begin with a delicious breakfast followed by a guided tour of some of the most popular UNESCO World Heritage Sites inside the city. You will leave to enjoy the tour and be back in time to prepare for the upcoming trek. Some of the popular places you will get to visit are Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square.
All these places are bustling with tourists, locals, and pilgrims. It will be a fantastic sight to see if you have never visited Nepal before. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 3 Fly to Lukla 2,820 m (30 mins) and trek to Phakding 2,635 m 3- 04 hrs.
After early breakfast, you will drive to the airport with your trek guide. The flight to Lukla is generally scheduled for early morning to avoid bad weather conditions. Once in the air, you’ll get to witness the pristine sight of lush green forests and scenic mountains. The flight may last about 30 minutes. Lukla is a mountainous town that serves as the gateway to the Everest region. You will preserve your energy and embark on the slower first day of the trek. The destination for today has Phakding located 11 km from Lukla.

Day 4 Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m – 06 hrs.
Phakding is a Sherpa town that serves as the transit between Namche and Lukla. Start trekking along Dudh Koshi River and head towards Monjo Village. At Monjo, you will enter the Sagarmatha National Park. The park was designated as a UNESCO Heritage Site in 1979. After obtaining the national park permit, you’ll continue trekking through the narrow cliffs, ridges, and bridges to reach the largest village in the region, Namche Bazaar. Overnight in Namche.

Day 5 At Namche Bazaar rest day with a short hike to support acclimatization.
Namche Bazaar is a wondrous village. It consists of many teahouses for incoming tourists. The roads are generally filled with coffee shops to shops that sell souvenirs. Today, you’ll spend the day preparing for the upcoming trek. Along with your trek guide, you’ll embark on a short hike to the nearby villages of Khumjung and Kunde. Khumjung Monastery remains popular for preserving the Yeti scalp inside a glass box. After visiting Khumjung village, you’ll head towards Kunde village to explore the Edmund Hillary School, the largest school in the entire region. You can choose not to go for the hike and instead rest at Namche Bazaar.

Day 6 Trek Namche to Dole 4,110 m past Phortse Tenga – 06 hrs.
Today, you’ll begin climbing the uphill trail from Dudh Koshi Valley. The trail begins with a straight climb of stairs and heads towards the forested path to Phortse village. Through the uneven terrains, you’ll continue heading west towards Gokyo Valley. You may witness a few exotic Himalayan wildlife including Himalayan pheasants (Danphe), musk deer, and Himalayan Thar along the trail. The trail will then begin to descend towards Kyanjuma and continue to Sansa village. The final section of the trail crosses into Gokyo Valley. You can catch glimpses of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Tawache and Khumbila mountains. The trail drops for a while towards Dudhkoshi Khola and continues towards Phortse village.

Day 7 Trek Dole to Machherma 4,470 m – 04 hrs.
Today, you’ll begin climbing the uphill trail from Dudh Koshi Valley. The trail begins with a straight climb of stairs and heads towards the forested path to Phortse village. Through the uneven terrains, you’ll continue heading west towards Gokyo Valley. You may witness a few exotic Himalayan wildlife including Himalayan pheasants (Danphe), musk deer, and Himalayan Thar along the trail. Day 7 Trek Machherma to Gokyo Lake 4,800 m- 04 hrs
The trail is filled with beautiful rhododendron forests. You will encounter wild rhododendron bushes and numerous waterfalls along the trail. A short trek will bring you to Dole. You’ll begin climbing the hill while enjoying the majestic sights of the Cho Oyu, Kantega, and Thamserku mountains. The trail ascends towards Luza village and continues along the Dudh Koshi River to arrive at Machherma.

Day 8 Trek Machherma to Gokyo Lake 4,800 m- 04 hrs.
From Machherma, it’s only a short distance to reach Gokyo Lakes. The morning view will offer a beautiful sight of Kangtega, Thamserku and Cho-Oyu peaks. As you continue to trek, the valley widens at Phangga village. A difficult terrain will follow from here on. A short descent will bring you to a riverbank from where the trail starts climbing towards Ngozuma glacier, the largest glacier in the Everest Region. Along the trail, you’ll pass through Longpongo and Raboche Tsho to arrive at Gokyo Lake also called Dudh Pokhari.

Day 9 Rest at Gokyo Lake with the hike to high scenic Gokyo-Ri 5,357 m
An early morning hike from Gokyo village will take you to the peak of Gokyo Ri. Also known as the Gokyo peak, it lies on the western front of Ngozumpa glacier just above Gokyo village. From the top of the peak, you can witness the beautiful panorama of some of the highest mountains in the region such as Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. You’ll begin descending towards Gokyo village and explore the nearby Gokyo lakes.

Day 10 Trek back to Dole – 06 hrs.
After witnessing the beautiful view of the mountains up close, followed by a scenic tour to the revered Dudh Pokhari, you’ll begin heading back to Dole village. Dudh Pokhari is an oligotrophic lake located just beside Gokyo village. Leaving this beautiful village, you’ll continue trekking through Machherma, Luza, and Lhabarma villages to finally arrive at Dole. It may take almost 6 hours to cross the moderate terrain en route.

Day 11 Trek to Namche Bazaar – 06 hrs.
Today’s trek will bring you to the usual route leading to the Everest Base Camp. Instead of taking a route up north, you’ll continue towards Phortse Thanga and walk through the beautiful rhododendron forest to reach Mong. The trail starts getting close to Namche Bazaar. Cross the Namche Army camp hill to arrive at Namche Bazaar. From the Army camp hill, you can view the beautiful Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Everest, as well as Tengboche village. Enjoy the evening at Namche before retiring for the night.

Day 12 Trek Namche to Lukla – 07 hrs afternoon free at leisure.
On our last walking day of the adventure, where walk the downhill path towards Dudh Kosi River and then a short climb towards Monjo village, past Jorsalle and Sagarmatha entrance and exit point. From Monjo continue to walk all the way to Phakding village and towards Ghat to reach Tade-Kosi small areas with the last climb to reach the main gate of Lukla. After a final climb of the journey rest of the walk is easy going through Lukla town and its markets place to our overnight stop in a nice lodge at Lukla, with time in the afternoon for short walks.

Day 13 Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel with a free afternoon.
Bidding farewell to the beautiful Everest region will be difficult. However, you’ll bid adieu to the high mountains and take a flight back to Kathmandu. Catch the beautiful aerial view of Eastern Nepal on your way towards Kathmandu city. It will take around 35-40 minutes to reach Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 14 The day departure for homeward bound.
It marks the last day of the trip. You’ll bid farewell to your guide and take a short drive towards the airport to catch your flight back home.
