Itinerary

Day 1 On arrival at the Kathmandu airport 1,340 m meet our staff and transfer to hotel.
Landing at Kathmandu and Nepal international airport, where our guide or staff receives you for the short drive to your respective hotels in the hub of Kathmandu. After checking into your nice rooms to rest after a jet lag, and then rendezvous with another group member of Annapurna Mardi Himal Trekking, where our guide/leader will brief you with information regarding the Mardi Himal trek, about hotels and lodges with Nepalese culture, do’s and don’ts. Evening enjoys a grand welcome dinner in typical Nepalese restaurants with various native cultures as entertainment.

Day 2 At Kathmandu with options for tour with time for trek preparations.
Kathmandu is a free day where one can join in our interesting sightseeing tour as options, as the capital Kathmandu of Nepal is steeped with historical and religious monuments of world heritage sites. Afternoon at leisure and preparation for Annapurna Mardi Himal trekking, starting the next early morning with overland or flight to beautiful Pokhara.

Day 3 Drive to Fly to Pokhara 860 m - 06 hrs ride and 30 mins via air.
As per group size take a coach or in tourist standard bus for the interesting overland journey to reach Nepal Mid-West at Pokhara, where a drive leads to much warmer farm areas past many towns and villages with views of snow-capped peaks, and then reaching finally at scenic Pokhara by its calm Phewa Lake.

Day 4 Drive to Kande and walk to Potana 1,900 m via Australian Camp - 04 hrs.
After a pleasant overnight stop at Pokhara facing views of the Annapurna Himalaya range of mountains with Machhapuchare peaks ‘ Fish Tail’ have a hearty breakfast in the hotel then drive beyond Pokhara to commence our first day walks. Journey with grand views of Annapurna heading past farm villages and towns and then a cooler hill village at Kande, where our walk begins following an uphill path into the cool shade of the forest for an hour to reach a beautiful and scenic spot within a large meadow a grazing field named as Australian Camp. The original local name is Thulo Kharka, which means a larger cattle grazing field, a scenic spot surrounded by alpine woodland with a superb panorama of Annapurna- Manaslu with the top of Dhaulagiri Himal. It also includes views of the towering Machhapuchare Himal or Fishtail. From here the walk continues downhill and short ups to Potana village for an overnight stop facing glorious views of Machhapuchare Himal with Mardi rock and ice peak.

Day 5 Trek to Kokar Forest camp 2,520 m via Pitam Deurali 2,100 m - 05 hrs.
Catching lovely views of the Annapurna range morning a slow climb into the forest to reach Deurali at 2,050 m high facing grand views of landscapes and mountains, our route diverts from the main trail at Deurali heading into hidden pockets of Annapurna Himalaya to reach a place called Kokar or Forest / Jungle Camp for an overnight stop after a pleasant scenic walk of the day.

Day 6 Trek to Low Camp 2,970 m - 05 hrs.
From here into dense woods of tall rhododendron-hemlocks-oaks-magnolia and pine trees where some of the time during walks on high ridges view of peaks blocked by tall tree lines, as our walk slowly follows the hidden trails within a tranquil environment with a glimpse of peaks around open areas then reaching a small place within a forest clearing at Low Camp for an overnight stop.

Day 7 Trek to High Camp 3,700 m - 05 hrs.
s morning views get better heading closer towards mountains where tree lines stop for short alpine bushes and shrubs with dwarf rhododendron known as azalea, junipers and Burberry facing towering Machhapuchare Himal ‘Fish Tail’ with Mardi Himal at close distance.
Slowly walk leads to higher ridges to reach High Camp for an overnight stay, a place with few simple good lodges for trekkers and adventurers, afternoon at leisure to enjoy marvellous views of grand landscapes and snow-capped mountains.

Day 8 At High Camp for hike to Mardi Himal base camp above 4,495 m.
A High Camp is a leisure day for a hike and excursion to the base of Mardi Himal, where morning follows a faint trail on the grassy path walking on the higher ridge of Mardi Himal high hills with an excellent panorama of surrounding peaks of massive Annapurna range as walk finally reach near to the bottom of Mardi Himal located beneath staggering Machhapuchare Himal ‘Fish Tail’ Enjoy the grand views on the highest spot of the adventure at above 4,495 meters high within the pristine wilderness of giant mountains and the retrace the walk back to High Camp

Day 9 Trek to Siding village 1,680 m - 07 hrs.
Today a long walk to the lower warmer valley at Sidang village, with a last moment on the high hills of Annapurna and Mardi Himal, where the walk follows the same route sometimes within a densely forested area, and then taking a new fresh route with more descent to reach a farm in the village of Sidang located on the road head to Pokhara.

Day 10 Trek and drive to Pokhara via Mardipul afternoon free at leisure - 04 hrs.
Our last day in farm country, where the morning leads to short walks and the boarding in a vehicle for the drive of a few hours to reach Pokhara, as journey passes through many smaller farm villages and towns and then arrives at beautiful and scenic Pokhara for overnight stops by famous serene Lake Phewa.

Day 11 Drive or fly back to Kathmandu afternoon free at leisure.
Morning from Pokhara an exciting overland journey back to Kathmandu on route observe Nepalese country life as the drive leads past farm villages and towns and to reach Kathmandu around afternoon time, the rest of the day free for individual activities and shopping souvenir

Day 12 International departure for homeward bound.
After a wonderful time in Nepal with an amazing time in the high mountains enjoying walks on the Annapurna Mardi Himal Trek, with the last day in the Himalayan country enjoy awesome adventures where our staff and guide transfer you to the airport for your flight back home or to the next port of call.

On Annapurna Mardi Himal treks can I bring family with children?
Certainly, this will be an exciting holiday for your people as well for adults, where walk leads to ups and down that is only the tough bit, otherwise, it’s a great interesting walk for all. For minor infants please bring carriage with straps to carry the younger kids especially on ups and down trails, where we can hire extra porters to carry the baby with the carriage.

When do I book for Annapurna Mardi Himal Trekking?
ADepending upon your time and duration for the trek you can book this trip at least 2-3 weeks ahead from our departure dates for the trek, with advance payment as per the norms and rules of the company. Make sure that you have checked your medical and physical fitness before signing the trip and as well purchasing medical and travel insurance which is very important for this kind of adventurous treks in Nepal Himalaya.

How many people will be in the group?
FFrom the minimum 3-4 person in the group with a maximum of 10-15 persons in the group, in some cases we do allow booking for a single person as well, running independently at extra cost than in groups.

What will be weather like on the trek?
s per the season wise, where the best time is from March to May when most of the day is clear with minimum temperatures of 0° to 20° Celsius depending upon the altitude and areas. Where most of the morning till mid-days clears for views and walks, sometimes afternoon can get overcast with chances of light rains and snow. March to May will be lively with wild-flowers in full bloom especially various species of rhododendron (national flower of Nepal) from trees too short bushes.

How are the lodge and Tea-House on Treks?
Tea-House the word used in early days when there were smaller numbers of lodges on route trekking, at present each village has more than 10 to 20 good lodges with pleasant rooms accommodations, serving excellent food menus as per the season wise. Some village above 2,500 m do have the nice lodge, but due to freezing cold temperatures in night and morning time where they have toilets on the outside, with some inside as common bathrooms and restrooms. All rooms and dining with warm heating and cozy facilities to make your stay much pleasant and enjoyable.

Are there electricity and network for cell-phones?
Most of the places do have electricity on route trekking run by hydro-power after main villages, where much of electric supply is private and individual of the lodge owners with sun/solar power to activate electric just for the lodge and as well for customers to charge their computers and cell-phones. Some places do have networks for cell phones and as well for internets like Wi-Fi above Chomrong some areas due to high peaks and hills, the networks are disturbed in deep areas like around river gorge areas. At present nearly all people in Nepal including remote villages do have an assist to cell-phones with fine network connection only in bad weather the line can be broken, otherwise it is fine in working order.

What happens if some is sick and have to break the trek?
In this situation where our guides are well equipped with knowledge for emergency and medical purpose, depending upon the seriousness of the victims if it is much critical where nearest medical attention needed, we call for immediate evacuation for Helicopter services to reach the victims to nearest medical station and hospital.

Who are Gurung people?
Gurung tribes are high hills people of Nepal Far Mid-West Himalaya spread out throughout Nepal, where most concentrated within Annapurna and Dhaulagiri area of both Hindu and Buddhist religion and origin, these hill tribes are famous as legendary Gurkha soldiers in foreign legion and army like British, India as well some as police force in Singapore and security guards in many parts of the world overseas. Besides men-folk as famous Gurkha soldiers, the hill people are mostly farmers and cattle herders as the traditional profession.

Is it really spectacular in flowering times of March to May?
Absolutely the best months of the year and seasons for botany students, flower and nature lovers, where hills and valley alive with wildflowers in full bloom with riots of different colors, rhododendron from tall trees too short bushes will be in flowering times, rhododendron national flower of Nepal also.
