Itinerary

Day 1 On arrival at Kathmandu airport 1,340 m meet our staff and transfer to the hotel.
Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by one of our representatives at the airport. S/he will help you get transferred to your Hotel. You will also meet our staff at the Hotel. More information will be provided to you about the trip.

Day 2 Fly to Lukla 2,820 m (30 mins) and trek to Phakding 2,635 m – 04 hrs.
You will then head towards the airport for your Lukla flight in the morning.
The short flight is quite amazing as it presents aerial views of the Himalayan periphery of Nepal. The sight of the peaks rising against the low-lying valleys is like looking at a canvas dotted with small villages, farmlands, and gorges with the backdrop of the majestic Himalayas. Upon landing at Lukla, you will begin your trek to Phakding- a famous Himalayan village of the Khumbu lying just north of Lukla. It is a rather easy trek where you can enjoy the tranquil ambience of the Khumbu and take in the Himalayan surrounding. The trail goes through forest-covered hills, and when you approach Phakding, you will get your first view of the sacred Kusum Kangraru Peak.

Day 3 Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m – 06 hrs.
Following the trail that snakes through the Dudh Koshi River Valley towards Namche, you will be presented with the magnificent Himalayas decorating the horizon.
Making your way down the hill towards the river, the path runs by the banks of the Dudh Koshi until you reach Monjo. The entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park is situated here. The trek through the UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site- the Sagarmatha National Park, presents lush green alpine forests of aromatic pine and scented cedar trees. The woods are home to a wide species of Himalayan birds and small animals of the river valley. Along the journey, you can catch glimpses of the Danphe birds and small forest animals like the Musk Deer.
Gaining a steady altitude, you will trek up the hill again away from the river towards Namche Bazaar. It is one of the most famous towns of the Khumbu from where captivating views of peaks like the Kongde RI, the Thamserku, Everest, and the Ama Dablam among many more can be seen. Namche Bazaar is a major commercial hub of the region. It was also a major trading point for Nepali and Tibetan traders in ancient times. Traders of the lowlands and the Himalayan people used to exchange salt, textiles, and meat.

Day 4 Trek to Thyangboche Monastery 3,867 m – 05 hrs.
Trekking further into the Dudh Koshi valley, you will pass by Phungki Thanka and make your way from Pheriche to Thyangboche village. Crossing a suspension bridge over the Imja River, you will make your way through the trans-Himalayan woodlands that carpet the hills to Thyangboche. The village is situated at the confluence of the Dudh Koshi and the Imja Rivers.
Moreover, the ridges that surround the village are blanketed with rhododendron trees home to many Himalayan eagles. The views of the mountain peaks like the Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Lhotse, Nuptse, Changtse, Everest and many more from the village are also absolutely breathtaking. You can also visit the famous Thyangboche Monastery here. It is a spiritual centre of the region and the largest Buddhist shrine. You can take blessings from the monk at the monastery and light a few butter lamps offering prayers for a successful trip. The monastery is also where the celebration of the Mani Rimdu Festival takes place.

Day 5 Trek to Dingboche 4,350 m – 05 hrs.
The path snakes through jade bamboo woods up and down the valley towards Dingboche. The tall ivory peaks of Everest keep you company along the journey. You will cross a suspension bridge over the Imja River and pass through the village of Pangboche on your way.
The terrain is quite dense and the trans-Himalayan landscape is filled with small brooks and streams flowing through the chartreuse forests of rhododendrons and juniper, flanked by occasional tall cliffs ornamented with moss and ferns. Dingboche is situated snugly amidst the hills of the Imja River Valley and is also famously referred to as ” the summer valley” of the region.

Day 6 Trek to Lobuche 4,980 m – 05 hrs.
From Dingboche, the trail coruscates alongside the Imja River and branches up the valley towards Lobuche. It is a small settlement that towered over the Lobuche Peaks. The trek is moderate, with the path going through rocky terrains and steadily gaining elevation. As you progress, you can also notice the terrain changing from greener pastures to barren rocky boulders and snowy grounds. You will pass Pheriche where the Trekker’s Aid Post is located. The Aid Post is run by western volunteer doctors and oversees the minor treatment of trekkers. Further along from Pheriche, the path leads to Chupki Lharka, a rocky terrain strewn with large boulders. The Khumbu Glacier moraine is situated ahead. Views of mountain peaks like Khumbutse, the Mahalangur Himal, Lingtren and the Pumori from the glacier moraine are quite enchanting. Once the glacier passes, you can also see Mount Nuptse on the horizon.

Day 7 Trek to Gorakshep 5,180 m and walk to Everest base camp 5,364 m – 06 hrs.
From Lobuche, you will make your way to Gorakshep- a sparsely populated settlement that used to be the original base camp. From there, you will finally hike towards the base camp of Mount Everest located a few miles up the terrain. Upon reaching the base camp, you can take in the scenery of the Khumbu Icefall and the Khumbu Glacier- the largest glacier in the country. During peak expedition time, the base camp becomes a vibrant tapestry of colourful tents set up in the snowy fields by climbers doing the Everest expedition. After sending time at the base camp, you will return to Gorakshep.

Day 8 Climb to Kalapatthar 5,545 m and walk to Pheriche 4,230 m – 06 hrs.
Waking up before dawn, you will make your way to the vantage point of Kalapatthar. It is the most famous vantage point of Khumbu that presents the beguiling and other-worldly view of the entire Mount Everest massif. Kalapatthar is known for its sunrise view amidst the peaks. The mountains change colour from silver to gold as the sun slowly spreads its golden rays over the peaks. It is one of the most beautiful sights in the world. After enjoying Kalapatthar, you will make your way back to Pheriche, trekking along the familiar pathway. The journey downhill is easier.

Day 9 Trek to Namche 3,440m via Thyangboche – 06 hrs.
Trekking back down the valley, you will traverse along the hillside trek to Namche. Crossing the Imja River again, you will reach Thyangboche. From there, trek through the ridgelines of the gaping open valleys to Namche Bazaar.
Overnights stay at the guesthouse at Namche. Include Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Tea or Coffee.

Day 10 Trek to Lukla – 06-7 hrs afternoon free at leisure.
Back through the Dudh Koshi River valley, you will pass by Phakding and Monjo, exit the national park and trek back to Lukla. Once there, you have the rest of the time to yourself, which you can spend exploring the village, talking to the locals and relaxing.
Overnights stay at the guesthouse at Lukla. Include Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Tea or Coffee.

Day 11 Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel with a free afternoon.
Catching an early flight back to Kathmandu, you will bid goodbye to the mountains for the last time. Back in the city, you can spend your time as you please, resting or shopping, as per your preference.
Overnights stay at the Hotel in Kathmandu. Include Farewell Dinner with limited Drink.

Day 12 International departure for homeward bound.
Approximately three hours before your scheduled flight, you will be transferred to the airport by one of our staff members from where you will depart.
