-
Day 2: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation
On the second day, we will go sightseeing at some places of Kathmandu that holds religious and cultural importance like Swoyambhu, Basantapur, Boudha and many other. After spending the whole day on the excursion of Kathmandu city, we will take some rest and finally prepare ourselves for the trek. Our guide will give you a briefing about the holy trek in short so you can prepare the stuff accordingly.
-
Day 3: Kathmandu to Nyalam (3750 m/12,303 ft)
The third day of Mount Kailash Mansarovar Yatra tour marks the journey from Kathmandu to Nyalam across the Nepal-Tibet border. To reach the Tibet border, we will walk across the Friendship Bridge and drive towards Zhangmu. We can see the colourful Tibetan prayer flags welcoming us at the entrance gate of Zhangmu reflecting Tibetan influence already. We have to perform the mandatory immigration formalities to enter Tibet. Then, the winding roads accompanied by wonderful Nyalam town view along the journey will bring us to the end of the day. We will stay at a simple yet pleasing lodge in Nyalam town. It would probably take around 6 hours to reach Nyalam from Kathmandu.
-
Day 4: Nyalam Full day acclimatization
Since we traveled all the way from Kathmandu to Nyalam to a height of 12,303 ft., we will take our fourth day of the tour as acclimatization day at Nyalam. It is quite an altitude to cause altitude sickness and nausea. We will take this opportunity to explore the beautiful Nyalam town which has preserved its culture till date. We can still see the buildings made up of stone and tin roofs. Maximum people here are farmers and agriculture is one of the main sources of their livelihood. The elevating dry barren land surrounds the Nyalam town and the clouds sit at the top of it. The entire view is unique and beautiful. The town is less crowded and relaxing. Walking through the streets and narrow pathways along the green farms, we will take a closer glimpse of their lifestyle and try their tasty varieties of foods.
-
Day 5: Nyalam to Dongba/ Paryang (4500 m - 375 km)
A fulfilling breakfast in the morning energizes us for the first longest drive of Mount Kailash Mansarovar Yatra tour. The 9 to 10 hours ride will take us through the first highest pass, few small settlements, and diverse natural beauty with a vista of mesmerizing snowy-peaks on the backdrop. Start by driving on the smooth road passing through few villages and cross a magnificent gate then climb on the Lalung La Pass at an altitude of 5000 meters. A short drive on the downhill leads to a pristine lake named Palku Tso.
Drive for around an hour from here will take us to a small village, Saga. Pass through the small village stippled with chortens and prayer flags. Soon we will cross a checkpoint. Gradually climb the hill then descend and drive on the smooth flat land. The road passes through barren land and diverse vegetation alongside the Yarlung Tsampo river. Few more hours from here and we will be in Prayag. In between the ride, we will take short breaks to stretch our legs and enjoy the purity and beauty of this spiritual country.
-
Day 6: Dongba/Paryang (4500 m - 335 km) to Mansarovar

Upon reaching Mansarovar, we will stay at the hotel on the bank of this pristine lake offering a breathtaking view of the lake and Mt. Kailash. Gigantic Himalayans surround the beautiful lake. The lake has great religious value among people following a different religion. Stroll around Ji Wu Temple, Chu Temple, and Lake Rakshastal before checking in to the lodge.

Ascending for around an hour from here we will reach Dolma La Pass at an elevation of 5700 meters. Descending down the Dolma La is as difficult as climbing, so walk slow and steadily.
