Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival at Kathmandu
Our airport representative will be waiting for you outside the terminal with a nameplate. They will help you collect your luggage then transfer to the hotel. On the way to the hotel, you will get a glimpse of the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu. If you arrive on time, you may go to visit the local market. You may visit our office in the evening.

Day 2 Kathmandu Sightseeing and Tour Preparation
Start the day early, have breakfast and buckle yourself for today’s tour. Today we will be visiting four major cultural heritage in Kathmandu; Basantapur Durbar Square, Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath. Basantapur Durbar Palace was an abode of the Malla and Shah Dynasty for years. The artistically rich plaza reflects the antique Newari architecture and ancient civilization. The majestic Gaddi Baithak Palace, beautiful courtyard, primitive temples, breathtaking monuments, and ancient houses will elevate our experience.
Take blessing from the living goddess ‘ Kumari’ before heading to Swayambhunath. Swayambhunath is a symbol of peace and love. The beautiful plaza guards the entire Kathmandu city against the top of the hill. The complex houses a number of Buddha statues, shrines, temples and gompas. After visiting this holy place, we will head to Pashupatinath.
A 45-minute drive from here will take us to another sacred place in Kathmandu, Pashupatinath. The beautiful temple is surrounded by beautiful forests and filled with multiple temples, statues, and shrines. The major temple is of Lord Shiva set on the bank of the holy river Bagmati. Non-Hindus are not allowed to enter the premises of the temple. However, the temple looks equally magnificent from afar too. Our next destination is Boudhanath.
While performing kora, we will witness beautiful temples, shops selling handicrafts, thanka, Tibetan and Nepali handicrafts etc. After strolling around for a while, we will have lunch in one of the fine restaurants. After concluding the Kathmandu tour, head back to the office. We will have a briefing session and prepare for the upcoming tour.

Day 3 Day 3: Drive From Kathmandu to Nylam
ost breakfast, we will set off for our today’s journey. Driving for around five to six hours on the Araniko Highway, we will reach the border of Nepal and China, Kodari. Upon reaching Kodari, we will drop off the vehicle and walk for a while on the Friendship Bridge to enter Tibet. Cross the Tibet border and hop into a bus heading to Zhangmu. Further half an hour drive will take us to Zhangmu and we will complete the immigration formalities before heading to Nyalam which is a small village housing few simple lodges. We will spend our night here.

Day 4 Rest Day at Nylam
An ancient town, Nylam sits at an altitude of 3,750 meters. It is 40 km away from Nepal border. Today we will spend an entire day exploring this small town. It is small but does not lack natural wonders. Milarepa’s Cave, The Monastery Nyelam Phelgye Ling, and Peikucuo Lake are some of the major attraction of this place. The place offers vistas of magnificent peaks including Lhotse and Shishapangma.

Day 5 Drive from Nyalam to Saga
A cozy night and a hearty breakfast in Nyalam energizes us for today’s tour. We will begin driving to Saga which is around 250 km away from Nyalam. The road is smooth so we will pick a good speed. Driving through small fields and several settlements.
We will see the view of sparkling mountains in the distance. A huge gateway to the Tibetan plateau is half an hour away from Nylam. Crossing it and driving at an altitude of 5000 meters leads to Lalung La Pass then we will turn west. The road descends to Palku Tso, a shimmering lake. A brief descent from here will take us to our today’s ultimate destination. We will ride on a smooth road dotted with prayer flags and barren landscapes most of the time. The small townhouse and few lodges are catering basic services. We will spend a night here.

Day 6 Drive From Saga to Prayag
It’s going to be a long day, so eat a hearty breakfast before hopping into the vehicle. Today, we will drive for around eight hours on a smooth road. The scenic ride starts with crossing a police checkpoint and then rising to a small pass, the road descends, and levels eventually. Drive through small grasslands and tiny hamlets and follow a river named Yarlung Tsampo. We will reach a small pass decorated with players’ flags and that’s. Continuing on the same path, we will come across larger villages and a police checkpoint. Upon reaching Zongma, take a brief rest and head to visit a magnificent Zadun Monastery. It is a must-see in Tibet. After exploring the place, we will resume our journey. Driving through amazing sand dunes, villages and rivers, we will reach Prayag. In between the drive, we will take a short break, snap pictures, stretch our legs and immerse into the beauty of this barely trodden country.

Day 7 Drive From Prayag to Lake Mansarovar
After a fulfilling breakfast, we will traverse to the spiritual sites. Driving on the smooth road alongside beautiful villages and barren lands for around 6 hours, we will reach Lake Mansarovar. On the way, we will witness soaring mountains. In between the drive, we will stop in one of the hotels to have lunch. The sacred lake in Tibet, Mansarovar is nestled in Far Western. The mesmerizing lake is spread over 510 Km. Since the lake sits on the lap of majestic Himalayan peaks, the lake is popular among tourists as well. The holy lake is believed to wash away one’s pain and sin so devotees never miss taking a dip into this crystal clear lake. There are several places one can visit including Ji Wu Temple, famous for mesmerizing sunrise, Chu Temple; one of the largest temples in Mansarovar and Lake Rakshastal; a saltwater lake. After exploring this beautiful lake and its surrounding, we will check in to the hotels.

Day 8 Drive From Lake Mansarovar to Darchen
Start the day by offering prayers and pujas in nearby temples then head to the lodge for breakfast. Driving through Mansarovar parikrama point, we will head to a small settlement called Darchen which is also Mt. Kailash’s base camp.
Darchen is approximately 53 km away `from Mansarovar. The road is dotted with prayer flags, meadows, barren land and green valleys in the distance. Darchen, small townhouses few guest houses and a tiny shopping area. Since the drive is just around two hours, we will be left with enough time to explore this town. Have lunch then spend time clicking pictures, have a fleeting conversation with local people, indulge yourself in shopping or delve into the peace of this spiritual country. We will be served with a delicious local dinner before heading to the room.

Day 9 Drive From Darchen to Mt. Kailash
The 9th day of the trek will start with a fulfilling breakfast. From Darchen, we will start driving on a bumpy road. The journey is long and roads are not that smooth so it can be a bit tiring. Upon reaching Mt. Kailash, we will check into the hotel, quickly freshen up and then head out to explore this place. After exploring the place briefly, we will go back to our lodge have dinner and take rest.

Day 10 Mt. Kailash and around the places
The holiest place in Tibet, Mt. Kailash sits near Lake Rakshastal and Lake Manasarovar. The majestic mountains have great significance among Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, and Bon. Climbing the mountain is not allowed. Devotees can only walk around this holy mountain. We will explore the nearby places then head back to the hotel

Day 11 Drive From Mt. Kailash to Mansarovar
Eat some delicious breakfast then get ready to drive back to Mansarovar. Drive on the rugged road in the initial hours. After a while, the road seems to be better. We will head to Mansarovar via Darchen. From Darchen, Mansarovar is 53 km away. The road winds through small settlements, prayer flags, and beautiful meadows.

Day 12 Drive from Mansarovar to Saga
Fueling on the early morning breakfast, we will begin our today’s journey to Saga. The road meander through major town in Tibet including Prayag. It is around 7 to 8 hours drive.

Day 13 Drive from Saga to Nylam or Zang Mu
Leaving Saga behind, we will drive on the road dotted with prayer flags alongside barren lands. The road climb to a beautiful lake called Palku Tso. A brief uphill drive from here will take us to Lalung la Pass. Cross a gateway then drive for another half an hour to reach Nylam.

Day 14 Drive from Nylam to Kathmandu
It is our last day in Tibet. Taste the Tibetan breakfast for the last time (at least on this trip) then embark on the Nepal journey. Riding on the smooth road alongside the dramatic arid landscapes, we will arrive in Zhangmu. The next half an hour’s drive will take us to the Nepal-China border. From the border, we will catch a bus to Kathmandu. Overnight stay at a cosy hotel.

Day 15 Departure Day
Have a hearty breakfast, stroll around the alleys of Thamel, buy souvenirs and pack your belongings then our airport representative will drive you to the Tribhuvan International Airport. We hope you enjoy your tour.
