Rara Lake Nepal Trek you can reach Rara Lake in various ways. You can take a flight to land near the lake and trek for a few hours or travel via land all the way or take a flight to Nepalgunj and then head towards Rara on a drive. We normally prefer flights, taking flights from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, and the next flight on a smaller aircraft to reach the entrance of Rara Lake in Talca airport. You can also customize the trip if you want to include a drive or motorbike ride to Rara.

You’ll reach Rara Lake after a hike of not more than 4 hours from the airport. Murma is the viewpoint from where you can see the whole lake. You’ll spend a few days within the lovely surrounding of Rara Lake with nice views and a peaceful environment before heading back to Kathmandu.

Rara Lake of Nepal is one of the most spectacular destinations located in western Nepal. Rara Lake is located beyond the great mighty peaks of Mt. Api and Mt. Saipal. It is not ventured by many trekkers and is still regarded as off beaten trek. Rara Lake Trek offers you Nepal’s largest and deepest lake covering 10.8 sq km at an altitude of2,990m. The journey will explore and experience a lesser-known part of Nepal.

Rara Lake Nepal Trek Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu with a half-day tour and fly to Nepalgunj city.
Day 03: Flight from Nepalgunj to Tallcha airport and transfer to lodge.
Day 04: Trek from Tallcha to Murma 3,800 meters and reach Hotel Rara View – 04 hrs.
Day 05-6: Explore around Rara Lake 2,990 m and enjoy the views.
Day 07: Trek to Talcha for an overnight stop.
Day 08: Morning flight to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj and transfer to hotels.
Day 09: International departure for homeward bound.
